The BNTA offers the Brisbane Tennis community a wide variety of competition formats for night-time Fixtures.

In the Second Season of Fixtures for 2010, teams will have a choice of 5 great BNTA competitions: Monday Night Mixed, Tuesday Night Mixed, Tuesday Night Special, Wednesday Evening Pairs and Wednesday Night Threes.

The 2010(2) Season of Fixtures starts in mid August. Team registrations close on Friday 23 July.

The BNTA will be offering a new Winter competition on Tuesday nights on a trial basis.

The Tuesday Night Winter Fixtures will start on 15 June and finish on 24 August. Team registrations close on Tuesday 1 June.

The BNTA will be conducting Grading Sessions for prospective Fixture Players at the following times:

Thursday 27 May at the UQ Tennis Centre (Blair Dr, St Lucia) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Monday 12 July at the UQ Tennis Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Monday 19 July at the UQ Tennis Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The short Winter Season of Fixtures starts in mid June (with one competition on Tuesday nights). Team registrations for the Winter Season close on Tuesday 1 June.

The 2010(2) Season of Fixtures starts in mid August (with competitions on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday nights). Team registrations for the 2010(2) Season close on Friday 23 July.

The April edition of the BNTA newsletter (Night Tennis Topics) is now available.

The newsletter is packed with information about what is happening in Brisbane Tennis, including all the results for the 2009/2010 Summer Season of BNTA Fixtures.

The BNTA & UQ Tennis Club will be running an Autumn Round-Robin Men's Doubles & Ladies' Doubles Night Tournament for their members on Saturday, 22 May.

This tournament provides another form of competitive Tennis for BNTA members and gives players from one night competition an opportunity to play against players from a competition on a different night.

Entry is restricted to members of the BNTA and/or UQ Tennis Club.

The tournament will offer events at 4 levels, covering all Fixture grades (Open, A Grade, B Grade & C Grade). The aim is to complete all events in one night. Round-Robin formats will be used to ensure that all players get multiple matches.

Entries close on Thursday 20 May.

Visitors to the BNTA Marquee at the recent Brisbane International were able to enter a Lucky Draw contest which was drawn tonight (14 January) at BNTA Thursday Night Social Tennis.

The winner of the major prize (a Wilson Sports Pack which consisted of a tennis racquet, racquet bag & tennis balls) was won by Wendy Ferguson.

The other prize winners (who will each receive a BNTA T-Shirt) were Michael Chrapek, Katherine Hoare, Gerard Kavney, Paul Moscos , Mark Pengelly, Vicky Pinsent, Danica Roderick, Dianne Russell and Chris Scarpato.

The BNTA has a Marquee at the 2010 Brisbane International (Queensland Tennis Centre, 3-10 January).

The BNTA Marquee is located in the Interactive Zone (near Match Court 4).

Visit the BNTA Marquee to find out about playing BNTA Fixtures, Social Tennis and/or Tournaments.

Visitors to the BNTA Marquee have the opportunity to enter a Lucky Draw for a Wilson Sports Pack (racquet, bag & balls) and BNTA T-Shirts.

If you want to get back into some regular Tennis but don’t want to play competitively or can't make the commitment to play Fixtures every week, try the BNTA's Thursday Night Social Tennis program which is run at the UQ Tennis Club, Blair Dr, St Lucia.

Thursday Night Social Tennis runs from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The cost for the night is $12 for BNTA or UQ Tennis Club members and students ($15 for all others).

The program caters for players of all levels. Players can attend Social Tennis regularly or occasionally. No pre-registration is necessary. Check-in is upstairs on the Clubhouse verandah.

The UQ Tennis Club runs a similar Social Tennis program on Sunday Afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (October to March) or from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (April to September). The cost for the afternoon is $10 for UQ Tennis Club members ($13 for all others).

After a short Christmas & New Year Break, Sunday Afternoon Social Tennis resumes in 2010 on 3 January and Thursday Night Social Tennis resumes on 7 January.
